Kindred Records has signed a record deal with Folk/Americana/Roots artist James Overbee and the Talking Machine. James is a singer/songwriter originally from Beattyville, Ky and is now making his home in Nashville. His new CD "Staying In Touch" is set to release May 1 and is produced by James Overbee, Bruce Chaney, and Roy Lee Centers. The album of all original material was recorded at Infinity Recording in Athol, KY and mastered at Yes Master in Nashville, TN. The first single "Cigarette Girl" is now available digitally to radio DJ's and web-jockeys for download at www.airplaydirect.com/jamesoverbee. The full project will be serviced to radio in April. James songs tell moving stories of life, joy and pain, lost and found love, with numerous twists and turns in the road typical of many folk singer/songwriters. James is just as comfortable solo with his guitar and harmonica or with The Talking Machine backing up his sound with resonator and electric guitars, drums, and electrified energy, capturing the feel and mood of the venue and holding attention. With "Stayin' In Touch" he has created a roots-rock feel to his first label release, but includes a couple acoustic tracks that balance out the set. James has played many venues from coffee houses to live TV and recently appeared on Americana Crossroads with Sasha Colette - 90.3 Morehead State Public Radio, and is actively booking shows from Tennessee to New York and surrounding areas. Kindred is pleased to expand into the Folk/Americana genres by adding James new project "Stayin' In Touch" to its catalog of Kentucky artists.
